It is very hot these days.Summer is reaching its peak in Bangalore. Its becoming very difficult to have spicy foods. So I am trying to have less spicy and cooling foods. While i was in hunt of less spicy yet yummy dish, this dish strikes to my mind.

It is one of the famous veg recipe. Methi(Fenugreek) and matar(Peas) combination makes the recipe taste awesome. Adding malai (Fresh Cream) to recipe makes the dish smooth, creamy and takes to the next level. Adding cashews gives richness to the dish. It is loved by kids as it is on sweeter side.

Restaurant style creamy, rich and delicious curry made using Methi(Fenugreek),Matar(Peas) and Malai (Fresh Cream)

Serves: 3-4

Ingredients:

1 Cup Fenugreek Leaves(Methi Leaves) roughly chopped
1/2 Cup of Fresh Green Peas, shelled
1/2 Cup Amul Fresh Cream
1.5 Tbsp Oil/Ghee
1/2 Cup Water
1/2 tsp Sugar
1/2 tsp Garam Masala
Salt to taste
Coriander leaves to Garnish

Paste:
1 Medium Onion
1/4 Cup Cashew Nuts
1 Green Chilly
3 Cloves of Garlic
1/2 Inch Ginger piece
1 tsp Cumin Seeds

Directions:
1.Chop the methi Leaves and mix with salt and keep aside for 10-15 minutes. Squeeze the juices to remove the bitterness in leaves.
2.Make a thick paste of all the ingredients under Paste using very little water.
2.Heat the Oil in a pan. Add the paste and fry the paste till oil leaves from sides.
4.Add little water in between if required.Don't burn the paste.
5.Add Fenugreek(Methi) Leaves and saute for 2 minute.
6.Add Water and Peas and Garam Masala Powder. Mix well and simmer for 5 Minutes.
7.Finally add the Cream and keep it on low flame for 5 min. Add sugar and salt and mix well.
8.Garnish with Coriander Leaves.
9.Serve with Roti,Nan or Hot rice and enjoy..


Note:
1.You can use home made cream. But beat it well for smoother, creamy texture.
1.You can replace half the amount of Fresh Cream by Milk
2.You can adjust the water to required consistency.
4.If you want to use dry peas,Soak it for few hours and boil them seperately.
