Its been quite a few days , I din't get much time to blog. Bangalore weather is quite chill these days. Due to that i fell sick and my daughter got cold too. I was not energic enough to manage everything .Now we are all fine and back :).Today I am bringing one of my favourite dish.

Sukka is very popular in costal areas. I love sukka whether it is chicken, mutton or prawns ,specially when served with neer dosa. Sukka is neither very dry or nor gravy, it is moist and thick enough to coat the chicken/mutton/prawns.

I love prawns, but my husband is little allergic to it. Hence we make this very rarely. I am the only one to eat prawns at home, so just enjoyed eating ;)Trust me it is very yummy,tastes heaven :).Lets quickly do it :)

Prawns sukka is famous coastal karnataka delicacy which brings flavours from blending whole spices with coconut


Serves: 2-3

Ingredients:
1 Cup Prawns(deveined and cleaned)
1/4 tsp Tumeric Powder
1/4 tsp Red Chilly Powder
2 tsp Oil
10 Curry Leaves
6 Garlic Cloves crushed
1/2 inch Ginger chopped
1/2 Onion Finely Chopped
1/2 cup water
Salt to taste

Paste:

1.5 tsp Coriander Seeds
1/8 tsp Fenugreek Seeds
1/4 tsp Cumin Seeds
2-3 Red Chilly
1/2 Cup Coconut
1.5 tsp Tamarind


Directions:
1.Clean the prawns and Mix the prawns with Turmeric Powder,Red Chilly Powder and salt and keep aside.
2.Dry roast Coriander Seeds,Fenugreek Seeds,Cumin Seeds and Red Chilly till it leaves aroma.
3.In a mixie jar grind spices[from step 2] to make a powder.
4.In the same jar add Tamarind and Coconut and make a coarse Paste using little water.

5.Heat the Oil in pan. When hot add curry leaves and saute for few seconds.
6.Add ginger and crushed garlic and saute till garlic turns brown.
7.Then add Onion and saute till onion turn golden brown.
8.Finally add prawns,salt to taste ans mix well.Add water and cook covered for 5 minutes.
9.When prawns are half done, add the coconut paste and mix well and allow to cook.
10.Add more water if required.Let the water dry and the coconut paste coat the prawns well.
11.Coconut Coating will be thick and little moist.Switch off once the prawns are cooked.
12.Serve with neer dosa , akki rotti or rice and enjoy..
