I did mango mousse some days back and since then I was waiting to make this cake. I was waiting for mangoes from native. Finally,I got those.

I love mangoes from native.First thing I made from those mangoes is this cake. It is super yummy. All my friends and family loved it.
I layered cake with Eggless chocolate cake. You can even use vanilla Sponge cake as base.

Cake is layered with chocolate/vanilla cake and mango mousse
Yields: 9 x 3 inch Cake


Chocolate Cake:
Directions:

1.Recipe mentioned above makes 7.5 x 2 inch round cake.
To make 9 inch round cake use 1.5 times the recipe
2.Use Springform Pan to make this cake. It will be easier.
3.Make sugar syrup - Add 2 tbsp sugar and 1/4 cup water and bring it to boil.Let it Cool.
4.Keep the Chocolate cake in a pan as base and Sprinkle the cake with Sugar syrup

Mango Mousse :
2 Cup Mango Pulp
2 Cup Whipping Cream/Fresh Cream (If using Fresh Cream, Please use only thick part of it. I used Amul Cream)
3/4 Cup Powdered Sugar (Vary according to sweetness of mango)
4 tsp Gelatin (soaked in 1/4 cup water)

Directions:
1.Keep The Cream in the refrigerator for about 2 hours before Whipping. And Keep the beater and Bowl in which you whip the Cream in the freezer 20 Minutes before Whipping.
2.Sprinkle the Gelatin in Water and keep for 5 Minutes. Then Microwave for 30 seconds.
It will be Clear solution.[See Notes]
3.Once gelatin mixture cools down add it to Mango pulp and mix well and keep aside.
4.In another bowl,Whip the Cream and Sugar till it forms soft peaks.
5.Now fold in the Mango Pulp to Cream.
6.Now Pour the Mango Mousse over the chocolate cake and spread evenly using spatula.
7.Refrigerate this to set at least 3 hours.

Mango Glaze:
1/2 Cup Mango Pulp
2 tsp Gelatin (soaked in 2 Tbsp water)

Directions:
1.Prepare the glaze only after the mousse layer is set.
2.Sprinkle the Gelatin in Water and keep for 5 Minutes. Then Microwave for 30 seconds.
It will be Clear solution.[See Notes]
3.In a Pan, Heat the mango pulp until warm.
4.Once gelatin mixture cools down add it to Mango Pulp.
5.Once cooled,pour the glaze over the refrigerated cake mousse layer and Refrigerate this to set at least 3 hours.
6.Remove the sides of pan gently and enjoy the slice :)

Notes:
1.To dissolve the gelatin you can use double boiler method too.
In a separate Vessel boil the water. Hold the bowl of soaked gelatin above this boiling water and keep stirring.
Gelatin will become clear solution.
2.While slicing the cake dip the knife in warm water. Slices will be cleaner.

    1. Hi, you can use 3 tsp agar agar for mousse and 1.5 tsp for glaze

    1. Hi Aishwarya , I have used Amul Fresh Cream. As Mentioned, I used only thick part From top. I Did not include watery part of it.

  4. Hello there. I would love to make this cake for my mkm's birthday, but I don't have a microwave. Can I heat the gelatin (I'm going to use agar agar) using the stove?

  5. Hi, sorry for late reply..yes you can heat the gelatin using double boiler method..heat water in vessel and then keep the bowl with gelatin above this vessel.gelatin will melt and becomes clear.

  7. Hii just few query
    Can I put biscuits layer instead of cake ??
    For the glaze after heating mango pulp should we get it to room tempeature and then add gelatin ???

      Yes you can add biscuit layer. hope you would have tried by this time and you would have liked it.
      Mango pulp will be just warm, so you can add to cooled gelatin mixture.
