Muthia is gujarati dish where grated/chopped vegetables are binded using flours .The dough is steamed and tempered in golden flames to give it a delectable touch.

Few months ago in my quest for healthiest delicacies  I came across nutritious Muthia in spusht blog. It literally filled me with amaze, it was a perfect amalgamation of taste and nutrition.
Later upon exploration of varieties of Muthia I tried my hand on finest of them.I must say Muthias are really tasty and one can't resist their taste buds without having whole chunk in a gulp.

These days Oats are my weapon to fight the lethargies of languid day( just to start the day on healthy side ;) ). Instead of having  monotonous oats porridge daily, I tried out copious oats recipes just to get you guys this scintillating oats Muthia. This nutritious and unbelievably delicious recipe will no doubt make your fingers numb in quench to have every single bit of it .. do try and enjoy(you will never believe it's made of oats) :)

Oats Carrot Muthia Recipe

Serves:3-4
Ingredients:

Muthia:
3/4 cup Oats powdered
2 cup Carrot grated
1/2 cup Methi/Fenugreek Leaves chopped(optional)
2 tbsp Yoghurt/Thick Curd
1 tsp Red Chilly powder
1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
1/2 tsp Coriander Powder
1/2 tsp Cumin Powder
1 tsp Ginger grated
2 Tbsp Coriander leaves
1 Tbsp Lemon juice
1 tsp Oil
Salt to taste
Water if required

Tempering:
1 tsp Oil
1 tsp Mustard seeds
1 tsp Sesame Seeds
2 Green Chillies (long length wise slit)
5-6 Curry Leaves chopped
pinch of Asafoetida/Hing

1 Tbsp Lemon Juice
Coriander leaves to garnish

Method:

1.Mix all the ingredients under muthia except salt.
2.Keep steamer ready. I used idly stand. grease it and keep ready .
3.Add salt just before making muthia. Mix together and make into soft dough.If everything is not coming together then add water or more oats powder as required.
4.Make into sausage shape and Keep it in steamer and steam it for 12-15 minutes in medium flame.
5.Once it cools down,Cut into bite sized or as big u want :) and keep aside.


6.Heat the oil in  wide tawa. Add Mustard seeds, when splutters add all other ingredients under tempering one by one and saute for 30 seconds.
7.Now add muthias into it and toss for a minute.
8.While serving squeeze lemon juice and garnish with coriander leaves.
