I am getting busy these days. Not getting much time to blog.Most of the time goes in office, when at home it will be running around my toddler.she is giving me good exercise these days :). But wenever I get time I love to cook. This dish I cooked for my lovely sister :).

We love sea foods. We eat more of fish, sea foods than vegetables as we grew up eating these most of the times being from coastal.Sukka is very famous delicasy from coastal karantaka.Sukka is neither dry nor gravy, it is moist and thick enough to coat the crabs.You can make this sukka with prawns, crabs ,chicken,mutton so on.I have already shared Prawns sukka.My sister loves crabs. So thoght to make Crab sukka specially for her. She loved it. That makes my day :). You musy try this sukka with crabs,prawns or chicken. You will Love this.

Crab sukka is famous coastal karnataka delicacy which brings flavours from blending whole spices with coconut.

Serves: 2-3

Ingredients:

3 Crabs
1/4 tsp Tumeric Powder
1/4 tsp Red Chilly Powder
2 tsp Oil
10 Curry Leaves
6 Garlic Cloves crushed
1/2 inch Ginger chopped
1/2 Onion Finely Chopped
1/2 cup water
Salt to taste
Finely Chopped Corainder Leaves to Granish

Paste:

1.5 tsp Coriander Seeds
1/8 tsp Fenugreek Seeds
1/4 tsp Cumin Seeds
2-3 Red Chilly
1/2 Cup Coconut
1.5 tsp Tamarind

Directions:
1.Clean the Crabs and Mix the crabs with Turmeric Powder,Red Chilly Powder and salt and keep aside.
2.Dry roast Coriander Seeds,Fenugreek Seeds,Cumin Seeds and Red Chilly till it leaves aroma.
3.In a mixie jar grind spices[from step 2] to make a powder.
4.In the same jar add Tamarind and Coconut and make a coarse Paste using little water.

5.Heat the Oil in pan. When hot add curry leaves and saute for few seconds.
6.Add ginger and crushed garlic and saute till garlic turns brown.
7.Then add Onion and saute till onion turn golden brown.
8.Finally add Crabs,salt to taste ans mix well.Add water and cook covered for 5 minutes.
Crabs begin to chnage colour from blue/opaque black to white and orange.
9.When Crabs are half done, add the coconut paste and mix well and allow to cook for about 10-15 minutes.
10.Add more water if required.Let the water dry and the coconut paste coat the crabs well.
11.Coconut Coating will be thick and little moist.Switch off once the Crabs are cooked.
12.Garnish with Coriander Leaves.Serve with rice/roti and enjoy..

  3. Tried this recipe did a bit of tweeking with the spices had about 5 crabs and it was amazing and just added a pinch of fenugreek big hit tastes even better the next day
