In India we use Methi/fenugreek in many ways. We use these leaves in dals, curries,paratha's and many more. We even use Methi seeds in cooking. I regularly use seeds in my dosa . I love methi dosa made by mom. So fluffy and so yum. I will make it soon for the blog :-)

Methi has many health benefits. To name a few it helps to reduce cholesterol, helps to control blood sugar levels.Drinking overnight soaked Methi seeds water in the morning even helps to reduce weight. Is it not amazing?

Coming to paratha, we usually make with wheat flour. But today I have given a twist using oats. Combination of Oats and Methi sounds so healthy.Trust me it tastes so good. Healthy food can be yummy too. I paired it up with Beetroot Raita and mango pickle,

Oats Methi Paratha
Yields: 9-10 Medium paratha

Ingredients:
1 Cup Methi/Fenugreek Leaves tightly packed
1.5 Cup Wheat Flour/Atta
1/2 Cup Oats Powder
2 Green Chilly
5 Garlic Cloves
1/2 tsp Cumin Seeds
1/4 Turmeric Powder
1 tsp Oil
Salt to taste
Water for making dough
Oil/Ghee for roasting

Directions:
1.Wash the Methi/Fenugreek Leaves and drain the water.Chop it finely and keep aside.
2.Powder the Oats in blender, if you do not have oats powder in hand.
3.Finely chop Green chillies and garlic.
4.First Mix the dry ingredients together(Wheat flour,Oats Powder and Salt).
5.Now add Methi/Fenugreek Leaves,Green Chilly,Garlic Cloves,Cumin Seeds,Turmeric Powder,1 tsp Oil to dry ingredients and mix well.
6.Now add water little by little to make soft dough. Keep aside for 10-15 minutes.

7.Knead the dough once for 30 seconds and Divide the dough into medium sized round balls.Dust the surface with flour and Roll each into round paratha.
8.Heat the tawa/griddle.Put the paratha on hot tawa. Once bubbles start coming drizzle some oil/ghee on the sides and flip to other side.
9.Let it get cooked on both sides.
10.Serve it hot or Wrap the parathas in Muslin/Cotton cloth and keep in hot casserole/container.This will keep parathas hot and softer.
11.You can serve parathas with any raita or pickle. I paired with Beetroot Raita and Mango Pickle
