Palak Paneer Recipe | How to make Palak Paneer

Palak Paneer was the dish which we ordered always whenever we visited restaurants during college days :).This dish was something very special for us and unusual from hostel food which used to be rice items always :). So this is in favourite list from then .
Today when my hubby says to cook something healthy and tasty, palak paneer comes in mind and its ready for dinner :). Healthy means greens for me ;). Have healthy foods and stay fit :)


Serves:3-4
Ingredients:
Puree:
2 bunches Spinach(palak) (each bunch had approx. 25-30 leaves)
2 Green Chillies   
2 Garlic

200 grams Paneer (cottage cheese)(approx. 40 medium cubes)
1/2 teaspoon Cumin seeds
1 bay leaf
1 medium Onion
1/4 tsp Turmeric Powder           
1/2 tsp Red Chilli Powder   
1 Tbsp Ginger Garlic Paste
2 medium Tomato
1 Tbsp Coriander Powder    
1 Tbsp Cream Fresh
Salt as per taste

Method:
1.Boil enough water with salt to put palak in it later.Switch off.
2.Meantime Chop Green chillies, Onion, Tomato and keep ready.
3.Remove the stems and wash spinach(palak) thoroughly in normal water and Put it in boiled water for 2 min.
4.Now put  palak in cold water to retain the green colour. Let it cool down.
5.Make puree of palak,garlic and green chillies. keep aside.
6.Cut the paneer into cubes and Fry slightly with oil or ghee.(frying is optional) and keep aside.
7.Heat oil in a deep pan. Add cumin seeds. When it spultters add bayleaf and then onions and fry till golden brown.
8.Now Add turmeric and ginger garlic paste and saute for a minute.
9.Add tomato,coriander powder, red chili powder and saute till tomato becomes soft.
10.Now add the spinach (palak) puree and cook till raw smell goes. Now Add salt to taste.
11.When the gravy comes to a boil, Add Paneer pieces to the gravy and simmer in for few min.(approx. 10 min)
12. Add water to gravy if its very thick. Gravy thickens a bit once it cools.
13.Stir in cream.
14.Top with little cream  and serve hot.
